Warning About Visiting Active High Schools

When planning to visit any Indiana high school gymnasium, please contact the athletic department first to identify an appropriate day and time.  Most schools are not open to the general public during school hours.  Consider buying a ticket to a girls' or boys' game, see the gym and some great high school basketball.

Southport Fieldhouse

971 E Banta Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46227

With just over 7,300 seats and its iconic street-level entry and lowered court, the Southport Fieldhouse is the largest high school gymnasium in the state's capitol city of Indianapolis.  Since opening in 1958, the fieldhouse has hosted IHSAA tournament games, was home to the Indiana state wrestling finals for 20 years and served as the temporary home to the Indiana Central College (now University of Indianapolis) before they moved to Nicoson Hall.
