As Sinatra once said, “There’s a wonderful fling to be flung.” No one knows that better than the Indianapolis Alley Cats, the hometown Ultimate Frisbee team.

Born of backyard summer fun, this exciting no-contact sport pits teams of seven against each other to get their frisbees down a full-sized football field and into the opposing team’s end zone to score. Fair play and good sportsmanship define the contests, with players following the spirit of the game by self-regulation.

The U.S. Ultimate Frisbee professional league launched in 2012 with the Alley Cats as a founding member and now counts two dozen teams across two countries among its ranks.

For more than a decade now, Alley Cat athletes have delighted fans with fast-paced action during their summer seasons of play running from early May through late July. In 2025, the team returns to downtown Indy for matches at the historic Kuntz Memorial Soccer Stadium on the near west side along the White River.
