Visit Indiana Golf is highlighting the best 18 golf holes from 18 different public golf courses across the Hoosier State. Hole 5 on Indiana's Signature 18 is located at Covered Bridge Golf Club in Sellersburg. Sellersburg is located in southern Indiana, just 15 minutes north of Louisville.
Covered Bridge Golf Club is a Fuzzy Zoeller/Clyde-Johnston designed, 18-hole golf course that is carved throughout the gorgeous landscape of southern Indiana. Each hole of this par 72 layout offers a new and exciting challenge from tee to green. Paved cart paths bring these 18 holes together, connecting tee boxes for golfers of every skill level. Multiple lakes and strategically placed bunkers add to the beauty of the slightly undulated greens.

The most exciting “risk/reward” hole at Covered Bridge is the 5th. The green on this serpentine par 5 can be reached in two, but the presence of a pond to the right of the green will “sink” your chances of a sub-par score if your second shot veers too far right. Play it safe by hitting a mid-iron as a layup and give yourself a birdie putt with a wedge to the green.
Side note: The 9th and 18th holes are both par 5 and parallel one another, as they share a huge double green. The clubhouse, built on an adjacent lofty perch, overlooks that double green.
