Off the beaten path in the small community of Lagro (population 400), you’ll find a cozy little hideaway in the 950 Speakeasy. Upstairs is a family-friendly eatery, but when you make your way down the stairway, you find this unique, rustic speakeasy overlooking the Wabash River.

950 Speakeasy Bistro

950 Speakeasy Bistro opened in 2020. Despite the challenges facing restauranteurs at that time, it was a hit, drawing customers from far beyond the border of this small community. It combines quality cuisine and cocktails with history, using upcycled materials in the design and construction. Following the prohibition era theme, the signature cocktail list was crafted using spirits like gin and whiskey, which were prominent during that time.

Pizzas are a highlight with a number of signature items with interesting flavor combinations. A cauliflower crust option is available or a “Riverboat” low carb bowl can be ordered of all the toppings with none of the crust. Toasted subs, baked potatoes, salads and small plates around out this diverse menu of casual bites.

There’s also a nice selection of appetizers - from chips and queso to Ed’s Cheese Bread (garlic bread topped with cheese) to nahcos. Don’t miss out on the charcuterie board with a variety of meats, cheeses, breads and homemade jams or spreads.
