Ready for a good scare? Just in time for Halloween, Southern Indiana has launched a new digital passport that highlights the Stranger Things of SoIN. From local oddities and creepy sites to haunted history across Floyd and Clark counties, the year-round promotion guides brave visitors along a DIY tour that’s sure to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
Get the lay of the land with a New Albany Wicked Walk to learn all about the town’s spookiest crimes, murders, hauntings and other supernatural occurrences. A scenic stroll through the remnants of the long-abandoned Rose Island amusement park at Charlestown State Park is enough to send a chill down anyone’s spine.
The Clark County Museum details ghost stories to complement exhibits of Native American and donated artifacts. Test your wits with a stop at Big 4 Escape featuring several mysterious escape rooms for a scary good time.
Stop into Raven’s Roost for charms to ward off the evil eye, candles, crystals and tarot card readings, and stock up on sleight-of-hand supplies before taking in an intimate show at J&B Magic Shop and Theater. Wind down your day by hunting for vintage treasures at the eccentric Odd Shop and stop for a bite to eat at quirky Lady Tron’s soup and sandwich shop.
Colorful murals and public art installations keep up the interest and intrigue all along the way.
Get the party started by signing up and downloading the free Stranger Things of SoIN digital passport to your smart phone from GoSoIN.com. After checking in at 10 of the stops on the list, you’ll receive a 11” x 14” custom poster designed by SoIN artist and illustrator Matthew Clinard specifically for the occasion. You’ll also earn entries to win the grand prize drawing in April 2025 — a Clue Party for you and 20 of your closest friends at the Culbertson Mansion State Historic Site.
