There’s a new place to stay in Wayne County geared toward visitors who appreciate art and shopping. Located amid Antique Alley on U.S. 40, the brand-new Monét on Main accommodations in Cambridge City are brimming with beautiful décor and thoughtful details.
Owners Ryan and Carma Parrish grew up in the area—he on a country farm and she in her family’s landscaping business. Now empty nesters, the couple have spent the past two years restoring the 1888 former bank as an Airbnb.
“I fell in love with Monét the first time I went to Paris,” Carma said. “There’s also a flower shop in our building, so ‘Monét on Main’ just fit. We knew we wanted the suites to be named after his art, and the designs grew out of that.”
Monét on Main offers three separate suites: the Garden, the Water Lily (both available now), and the Poppies (coming next spring), each inspired by masterworks from the famed Impressionist. With soaring murals and airy 12-foot ceilings, guests may just be fooled into thinking they’re overnighting in a museum.
“The Garden is English country, full of flowers and warm earth tones,” Carma said. “The Water Lily is a modern motif, picking up the cool greens and blues of the feature mural.”
Monét on Main represents the latest addition to a growing collection of unique places to stay in Wayne County. The Main Street address lends itself nicely to exploration of the area and is within quick walking distance of the charming antique shops, restaurants, and public art of Cambridge City. (Guests also get access to swim passes for the nearby Golay Center pool.)
Back at home base, well-designed appointments like complimentary Wi-Fi, 60-inch smart TVs, fully stocked kitchens, and dedicated dining space make it easy to feel right at home. Record players with curated vinyl collections and fresh seasonal bouquets from the Parrishes’ own micro flower farm are lovely touches.
“An à la carte breakfast is part of the experience,” Carma added. “We want our guests to feel completely pampered when they stay at Monét.”
