Indiana is full of surprising diversity just waiting to be discovered and enjoyed. Now in its 29th year, West Lafayette’s annual Global Fest celebrates the sights, sounds and tastes of cultures from around the world.

Global Fest Asian costumes West LafayetteA local tradition for going on nearly three decades, this colorful one-day party (Saturday Sept. 21, 2024 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.) is hosted jointly by the City of West Lafayette, the International Center of West Lafayette and Purdue Convocations with this year’s attendance expected to reach somewhere between 7,500 and 8,000.

Global Fest food vendors West LafayetteAn expansive lineup of vendors, live entertainment, music, food, art and kids’ activity booths gives guests the chance to explore and experience the cultures of Italy, India, Mexico, China, Ecuador, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Columbia, Ukraine, Brazil, the Philippines and more. Best of all, the whole event is family-friendly and free to attend!

Global Fest band on stage West LafayetteThis year’s main stage performances include the vibrant sounds of Brazilian power folk artist Bia Ferreira, Yemen Blues’ Arabic-Israeli grooves and the brass/percussion energy of the Balkan Paradise Orchestra. Black Voices of Inspiration, the Purdue Chinese Performing Arts Troupe, Okinawa Yuyukai and the Purdue Asian American and Asian Resource and Cultural Center’s Lion Dance Team will also be making appearances throughout the festival, with announcements regarding additional acts still to come.
