From Indy Scream Park scratching your Halloween itch, to the beautiful Mounds State Park changing colors in the fall, Fall in Madison County is a treasure waiting to be discovered.
Mounds State Park
Follow the footprints of people who lived over two thousand years ago by heading east of Anderson to Mounds State Park. Mounds State Park depicts 10 "earthworks" built by prehistoric Indians that were used for religious ceremonies revolving around the celestial bodies. While there, relax in the natural beauty of the state park.
Historic Camp Chesterfield
The home of Spiritualists, Camp Chesterfield boasts 44 acres belonging to a spiritualist community, making it one of the largest spiritualist communities in the United States. Come to this unique camp and book a hotel, visit their book and gift store, and walk their trail of world religions, their garden of prayer, and their labyrinth.
Pendleton Falls Park
In 1920, Falls Park was created on 284 acres of land as a public park for the community. The park contains the "falls" on Fall Creek, playgrounds, a swimming pool, a sports complex and a golf course to keep you busy for the full day. Come to Southern Madison to enjoy nature and find your adventure.
Shadyside Memorial Park
The City of Anderson originally bought Shadyside Memorial Park in 1923, making it available to the public and dedicating the park to all Madison County War Veterans. Since then, they've added many improvements including a Veterans Commons, a botanical walk, an amphitheater, and more. Come and honor veterans as you spend a day exploring Anderson in Autumn.
