The Office of the Lt. Governor of Indiana and the agencies that report to the Lt. Governor participate in social networking sites in order to promote activities and events. Our goal is to share information with the citizens of Indiana in a timely fashion.

The Office of the Lt. Governor of Indiana’s social media accounts, along with the accounts of the five agencies that report to the Lt. Governor, are monitored by staff in an effort to inform the public about activities and events. Our goal is to share information with as many individuals as possible and our policy is to accept the majority of comments made to our profiles.

Comments will be deleted if inaccurate, profane, or defamatory.   

  • We monitor our profiles and pages but are not responsible for content generated by users. Posted comments and images do not necessarily represent the views of the Office of the Lt. Governor and the six Family of Business agencies. Our profiles and pages may contain links to other web sites on the Internet. This does not constitute endorsement by the Office of the Lt. Governor or the agencies within the Family of Business.       
  • We do not allow profanity, obscenity, vulgarity, nudity, defamation of character, advertising, or political campaigning on the social media pages of the Office of the Lt. Governor of Indiana or the agencies within the Family of Business. Such content will be removed.        
  • Comments whose main purpose are to sell a product, infringe on copyright, or spam comments, such as the same comment posted repeatedly, may also be removed.

  • All links posted as comments on the Office of the Lt. Governor’s posts will be deleted.  
  • Repeated violations of this comment policy may cause the author to be blocked from social media pages sponsored by the Office of the Lt. Governor of Indiana and the Family of Business agencies.

We understand that social media is a 24/7 medium; however, our monitoring capabilities are not. We may not see every inappropriate comment right away, and we are trusting in the maturity of our community to ignore personal attacks and negative speech or respond politely.
