Nestled in Hancock County, Fortville is one small town with lots of charm, and lots of great eats. Take your family on a fun foodie adventure just northeast of Indianapolis with some of these great restaurants.

Sunrise Bakery

If you like donuts (and who doesn’t?), a stop at Sunrise is a must. Known for their yeast donuts made with real Madagascar vanilla bean, Sunrise also offers at least six daily varieties of moist, flavorful cake donuts. Get there early to try a Tiger Tail or Tiger Paw, a miniature take on the traditional Tiger Tail perfect for the little ones.

Cinnamon Roll at Lincoln Square Pancake House.

Lincoln Square Pancake House

A Central Indiana staple since 1989, Lincoln Square has all your traditional American breakfast, brunch and lunch needs covered. The servings are big and the service is always friendly. Seasonal specialties are rotated in, but all the classics stay the same. We’re a big fan of “The Entire Farm,” an open-faced biscuit with fried chicken, bacon, cheese, gravy and eggs.

Los Maguelles' dining room almost looks as good as the food tastes!

Los Maguelles

Traditional Tex-Mex fare in a laid back environment, Los Maguelles is a great place for a family lunch or dinner. The kids’ menu offers all the traditional Mexican restaurant specialties, as well as items like chicken tenders and pepperoni pizza for your pickier eaters.

Burgers and beer are just a small selection of the items you can get at Taxman Fortville.

Taxman Fortville

A new addition to Fortville is Taxman Fortville. This brewery/ restaurant offers a rotating seasonal menu for lunch and dinner for the adults, including items like grilled salmon and seared duck. They have sixteen Taxman beers on tap as well as a selection of wines and cocktails. While Taxman would make a good date night destination, they also offer a children’s menu with favorites like mac & cheese and the Pint Sized Burger, and the space is large and casual enough to make families feel at home.

Scallops, butternut squash gnocchi & asparagus at FoxGardin Kitchen and Ale.

Just for the grown-ups: For an adult foodie experience, those 21 and over should visit FoxGardin Kitchen & Ale. Named one of the 25 Best Restaurants of 2016 by Indianapolis Monthly, upscale pub fare, a wide variety of local beers and wines, house cocktails and often live music make FoxGardin a must-stop for the adult Fortville visitor.
