My husband grew up going to McCormick's Creek State Park and had fond memories of his time there. So, when he had a random Friday afternoon off this summer (a rarity in his business) we jumped on the opportunity to go visit ... and tent camp.Let me just say that I'm not a camper. I didn't grow up camping. I'm not opposed to it, however it does overwhelm me a bit. But, I made the list, checked it twice and then we packed up.We spent all Friday afternoon exploring the grounds, but mostly playing in the creek! The waterfall was a favorite of all!Dinner was a perfect time to teach Maggie how to cook over an open fire ...And even though it rained on Saturday, it wasn't hard enough to stop us from hiking and visiting Wolf Cave!On our way out we stopped by the nature center. Another state park I can cross of my list and one that is beautiful! Seems to be a trend among Indiana State Parks. The beauty of it all ... took us less than two hours to get to McCormick's Creek and we felt like we were miles away.
