Military Locations IN West Central Indiana

Just north of Lafayette sits the Tippecanoe Battlefield Memorial and the site of the first battle of the War of 1812, where the current governor of the Indiana territory and soon-to-be president, William Henry Harrison, led a small band of troops to make the start of a Native American Confederacy that was being built in Prophetstown.

While the full story is recounted on the War of 1812's page, there is more in this area than just Tippecanoe. Things like Fort Ouiatenon, which was the first post to be built in the Indiana Territory, is just west of Lafayette, and the Feast of the Hunter's Moon, which recreates an annual gathering between the French and Native American residents of this are just a few of the amazing historical adventures you can have in West Central Indiana!
