See the Battlefields In Indiana

Enter a time machine and visit one of the many battlefields Indiana has experienced; many have preserved not only the landscape but the structures as well. Historians have learned much about how and why battles were lost by studying these places, and many are now open to the public for their pleasure. The scenery may not match up to a national park, but battlefields have their own beauty in the monuments and memorials built to honor the lost soldiers.

You can visit the public battlefields and wander the open spaces, reading the plaques and following rangers on an informative tour. Pause to pay respects at the memorials for either side and maybe even hike a nearby trailhead. Open your worldview by getting out to one of Indiana’s battlefields, be that to visit the site of a lost loved one, walk the paths, or bask in the history it exudes.
